Student  Life at Kent State University at Trumbull can be fun and exciting, with organizations and events for all students.

Active organizations on campus include:

  • ENACTUS (formerly SIFE)

    Mission:
    To leverage classroom experience, the expertise of the faculty advisor and business advisory board, and resources of the university to develop projects that empower people to live better lives.

  • SNA (Student Nurses Association)

    Mission:
    Is to bring together and mentor student preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those enrolled in a baccalaureate completion program; convey the standards and ethics of nursing profession; promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession; advocate for high quality, evidence-based, affordable and accessible healthcare; advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education; and develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future.

  • SPOT-ON PRODUCTIONS

    Mission: Practicing and developing improvisational acting skills and showcasing them, as well stimulating interest in the acting community. An “improvisational workshop” takes place each meeting where students can observe and often participate, in a similar fashion to television’s “The Groundlings” or “Whose Line is it Anyway?”

Steps to Becoming a Registered Student Organization

Meet with the student activities coordinator to discuss in detail the necessary steps to become a registered student organization, including:

  • Each organization must have at least 5 officers or contact members who are registered students enrolled for at least 3 credit hours with a minimum of 2.25 cumulative GPA.
  • Each organization must have an advisor. This can be a full-time or part-time faculty or staff member.
  • Each organization must have a complete constitution.
  • The organization must complete the registration form.

After meeting with the student activities coordinator, the organization may use space up to two times in any of the buildings on campus to recruit members and promote the organization.

Complete necessary information is contained in the new student organization registration packet. This packet includes an activation form, expectations of student organizations, and a sample constitution.

Return completed packet to the Office of Student Activities. Be sure the student activities coordinator reviews the packet to ensure it's complete. You are encouraged to meet with the student activities coordinator as often as needed to learn about policies, procedures, and other helpful information.

Any changes to officers, advisors, or meeting day/time should be given to the student activities coordinator within 30 days of the change. Change in Organization Information forms are available from the Office of Student Activities and should be completed when any of these changes occur.

Benefits of Becoming a Registered Student Organization

  • The ability to receive funding from Undergraduate Student Senate or Student Activities Office.
  • The availability of mailbox space in the Classroom Administration Building.
  • The opportunity to utilize office space.
  • The ability to advertise events on designated bulletin boards with the Student Activities Coordinator's approval.
  • The ability to utilize room space for meetings and events.Help from your Student Activities Coordinator with programming, event forms, advice, etc.
  • The ability to have your organization and events listed on the campus web page and campus event calendar.
