SBDC Sponsors QuickBooks Training SessionsPosted Apr. 8, 2013
The Ohio Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Kent State University at Stark* is sponsoring training sessions on QuickBooks accounting software. Each one-day training session will be held at The University Center at Kent State Stark, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.
The fee of $119 for each QuickBooks session includes the training, use of computer for the day, breakfast station, two break stations and lunch in the Dining Room of The University Center. Space is limited to 20 participants per session.
QuickBooks I for beginners will be offered on Friday, May 10 and Friday, May 24, 2013.
Each program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registrations for the May 5 session will be accepted through May 3 and registrations for the May 24 session will be accepted through May 17.
Create your company’s books from scratch. Learn how to use this accounting software to create meaningful financial statements; profit and loss reports; budgets and forecasts to grow your business; track sales; set up an inventory; and process invoices, checks, payments and more. You will learn some of the features available in QuickBooks Basic, Pro, Premiere and Accountant Edition. This class is interactive so bring your specific QuickBooks questions.
QuickBooks II for advanced users will be offered on Friday, May 31, 2013.
The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registrations will be accepted through May 24. Prerequisite: A basic understanding of QuickBooks or the completion of the QuickBooks I class.
Discover how to customize QuickBooks to your business. Learn to track sales orders, use credit cards, perform a year-end close and import and export customer and vendor lists. Master special transactions, including bad debt, petty cash and automatic bank transactions, plus NSF check, customer deposits and more. Emphasis will be placed on inventory and payroll features. This class is interactive so bring your specific QuickBooks questions.
Registrations and payment for the information session must be made online at www.CantonSBDC.org. Click on QuickBooks and make your choice of program and available date.
An optional reference book for use at home/office is available and may be added at checkout for an additional $70. The instructor does not use this book, but it does provide step-by-step instructions for those desiring to take home additional information. The book encompasses both QuickBooks I and QuickBooks II. The QuickBooks classes are designed for the business professional using PC software and are not designed for those using Apple/Mac based products. PCs are provided for participants use during class.
