How so, you might ask yourself?
The Trumbull Campus Library has a "Food for Fines" program which allows patrons to pay overdue
Kent State Trumbull fines with one (1) non-perishable food item per $1.00 owed on any fine(s). Collected items are then donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. In addition the food for fines, the library accepts regular donations at any time to benefit SHFB. As of May 28, almost 60
0 pounds of food have been collected.
Additionally, the library also serves as a drop-off for the Lions Club eyeglass collection campaign. Anyone who has old eyeglasses can donate them to the Lion's Club who in turn provide them to those that cannot afford their own eyewear.
