Kent State Geographers receive accolades at 2012 Annual AAG meeting

Several Kent State Geographers received awards and recognitions and were elected into office at this years annual AAG meeting in New York City.  They include:

  • Jim Tyner received the Distinguished Service Award from the Asian Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers. This is awarded "for outstanding research and teaching in the field of Asian geography"

  • Scott Sheridan was elected as Director of the Climate Specialty Group
  • Weronika Kusek was elected as the Graduate Student Representative for the Cultural Geography Specialty Group
  • Gabriela Brindis Alvares received a $100 travel award from the Urban Geography Specialty Group.
