Posted Nov. 29, 2010

Dr. Bernice Sandler, the "Godmother of Title IX," will be coming to visit Kent State University on December 6 and 7, 2010.  Her keynote address, "You've come a long way, baby...but, it still hurts to be a woman in labor...and, the classroom," will be given in the KIVA from 5:00-6:30pm on Monday, December 6, 2010.  Dr. Sandler will meet with KSU students on Tuesday, December 7 from 1:00-2:00pm and with STEM faculty from 2:15-3:30pm (both in KSC 206).

No one has been more central to Title IX issues and the educational consequences for women and girls than Dr. Sandler.  Dr. Sandler's visit is sponsored by the Kent State University IDEAL Change Leaders, the Office of the Provost, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, the Faculty Professional Development Center, and the Women's Center; we are delighted to host her address and workshops at Kent State University.
