Kent State Trumbull to host career exploration program for female high schoolers

Dr. Randi S. Schneider, associate director of Student Success Programs at Kent State University, will be the keynote speaker for The Road Not Taken, a High Math/High Tech/High Wage conference for young women to be held at Kent State University at Trumbull on Friday, March 25, 2011.

Approximately 170 sophomore girls from Trumbull County high schools will be participating.

The conference is designed to encourage young women to explore nontraditional careers in math, science and technology.

Local professional women will conduct presentations and hands-on activities on their various career topics. Students choose four career topics from a list of one dozen that they would like to explore during the conference, which will begin with the keynote address at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.

The conference is presented by The Trumbull Career & Technical Center and the Kent State University at Trumbull Diversity Council.
