Kent State University at Trumbull Assistant Professor of Psychology Patricia Tomich, Ph.D has been named as one of 10 finalists for the 2012 Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Awards (DTA).
Sponsored by the Alumni Association since 1967, the Distinguished Teaching Award is the university’s most prestigious honor in teaching for full-time, tenure-track faculty. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching in the classroom and a devotion to touching the lives of students. Qualified nominees include Kent State tenure-track faculty who are currently employed by the university.
The DTA Committee received an impressive number of nominations this year with 243.
As part of the final selection process, finalists must submit a portfolio containing items which best exemplify their teaching career at Kent State University.
After completing reviews of the submitted portfolios, the committee will select three award recipients, all of whom will receive a $1,500 award to be presented at the University Teaching Council Conference on Friday, October 26, 2012.
