Explore Kent Chemistry

Dr. Paul Sampson speaks with a prospective student and her family at Explore Kent Chemistry Day.

We invite high school students and their parents and siblings to visit the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for Explore Kent Chemistry Day on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Our program will begin in the Williams Hall lobby at 10:00am.  Chemistry and Biochemistry professors will describe our curriculum, job prospects with our degrees, and research opportunities available to undergraduates.  KSU Chemistry and Biochemistry majors will describe college life from the student's point of view.  We will demonstrate our 3D stereoprojection classrooms and take a tour of the instructional and research laboratories.  The visit will conclude with an informal lunch, where you will have opportunities to talk one-on-one with faculty and students.

High school juniors and seniors come from all over Ohio and neighboring states for Explore Kent Chemistry Day.  Current KSU students who are considering Chemistry and Biochemistry majors are also welcome.

To register for this event, click here.  For more information, please contact Catherine Taylor at 330-672-2405 or ctaylo6@kent.edu.  Meanwhile, check out our video gallery to hear our students describe their experiences in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
