Kent State Trumbull enrollment climbs again

Posted Sep. 13, 2011
Kent State University at Trumbull’s enrollment growth continued its ascent according to the official 15-day fall semester figures that were released today, reflecting a 2-percent increase over the Fall 2010 tally.

With a count of 3,207 students, the campus bettered its all-time enrollment high, established just one year ago (3,144), and extended an upward trend which has Kent State Trumbull boasting an over near 55-percent increase from Fall 2008 to Fall 2011.

In fact, Kent State Trumbull has posted increased enrollment numbers over the past seven semesters and in only two of those instances (Spring 2011, 9.76%; Fall 2011) has the increase not reached double digits.

“We are very pleased with the (enrollment) numbers released today,” said Robert Sines, dean for Kent State Trumbull. “When you factor in the number of degree options available at our campus – including a great lineup of bachelor’s as well as associate programs; the affordability of our tuition and the fact that we are centrally located for so many students in so many surrounding areas; not to mention our many day, evening and online class options, I believe this speaks volumes to our place in the field of higher education in this area and to the trust that students have in our ability to prepare them for their futures.”

“A recent survey of our students indicated that, more and more, students are realizing the affordability of Kent State Trumbull,” said Dr. James Ritter, director, Enrollment Management & Student Services. “With more than 3,200 students, Kent State Trumbull has the atmosphere of a small college. However, being part of Kent State University, our students also have the resources of a major research university.

“Additionally, many students are taking advantage of our on-line offerings. They like the convenience of on-line courses coupled with the quality associated with Kent State University.”
