Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education to make presentation at  Job Fair

In conjunction with Kent State University at Trumbull’s Fall Job Fair which takes place Thursday, October 4 from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. in the Technology Building on the campus of Kent State Trumbull, the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program will present an overview of how natural gas and crude oil is explored, drilled and produced in Ohio, along with a description of the more than 75 different professions involved in this industry. 

Charlie Dixon, OOGEEP’s safety and workforce training administrator will conduct the presentation which will include a PowerPoint presentation as well as handouts on the different careers available in Ohio, and more specifically northeastern Ohio in regard to the oil and gas industries.

Dixon’s presentation will begin at 5 p.m. in Room 202 of the Classroom/Administration Building at Kent Trumbull.

OOGEEP’s Economic Impact Study which was released several months ago, has projected more than 204,000 jobs related to the development of more than 30 different Ohio geological formations, including the Utica Shale formation. 
The Fall Job Fair, sponsored in part by Warren City Councilwoman Cheryl Saffold, Trumbull County One Stop and AVI Foodsystems will feature representatives from regional business, industry and Kent State with information about various jobs and academic opportunities. Over 60 companies have committed to attend the Job Fair with additional commitments continuing to pour in.

Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and interview attire is recommended.
