Whooo can provide writing assistance? The OWL can!

Posted May. 20, 2011

Having trouble writing your paper?

Can't get to campus?

Write to the OWL!

Writing and proofreading assistance is just a few clicks away by sending your paper to the Learning Center's Online Writing Lab (OWL) at trumbullowl@kent.edu.

Just copy and paste your assignment into the body of your email and send it to the OWL's email address listed above. To help the OWL tutor formulate the best possible response, please include any and all pertinent information about your assignment such as:

·        Nature of the assignment (essay, research paper, etc)

·        Topic/question

·        Course and instructor's name

·        Required length

·        Formatting style (MLA, APA, etc)

·        First or final draft

·        Areas where you feel you need the most help (grammatical, thought organization, etc)

The OWL accepts papers from any discipline including psychology, sociology, technology, history, etc.

You will receive a reply within two business days.

The response – which you will receive within two business days following submission  - to an OWL request will include the original text in which the tutor has inserted his/her remarks. This format allows students to see the original text and the tutor's comments on the same screen.

The Learning Center keeps a hard copy of all OWL replies in a secure file should the student need access to such in the future.
