Sculpture, painting, ceramics, photography, dancing, acting, theatre set design, lighting, poetry, stories, film aesthetics, video editing, computer arts - many of both traditional and newer art forms are explored, tried and appreciated at the Kent State University Trumbull Campus.

Walk through the Art Gallery to see samples of the local talent developing through the Trumbull Art classes. Check out the Annual Spring Art Show, for which prizes are awarded for Best Drawing, Best Painting, and Best in Show. These wonderful works are also available on the web in the Art Gallery Archives. Reading and writing can be so much more than fundamental skills: poetry (sonnets to lyrics), playwrighting (staged plays to screened plays), and stories (short stories to novels) are all encouraged here at the Trumbull Campus through both Theatre and English courses offered, as well as through publication in Icon and exploration with the Film Club.

With staged performances involving both campus and community, the theatre is active in the Fall and Spring Semesters and has a flowering Summer Stock, too! Productions range from Shakespeare's plays to the Live Wires Improvisation Group. Live Wires Improvisation Group is a campus and community group that trains actors to rehearse and perform various improvisational handles in the style of Keith Johnstone's "Theatre Sports". The Kent Trumbull English faculty support several literary artistic endeavors. From evaluating and judging for the local Book Nook Contest, to picking the best submissions for the nationally acclaimed Hart Crane Poetry Contest, to working with students to edit and put together ICON: The Literary and Art Magazine.
