Robert Sines

Interim Dean, College of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology

Robert Sines was named interim dean for Kent State University at Trumbull on November 1, 2010. It's a familiar role for the Warren, Ohio, native, who also held the position from July 2003 to June 2005.

Sines had previously served Kent State Trumbull as assistant dean from 1997-2003 and then associate dean from 2005 until the recent appointment.

A 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Sines graduate with a Master of Arts in public administration from Pepperdine University in 1978 before arriving on the Trumbull Campus as an assistant professor in 1986, a role he held for the next 11 years.

In 1997, SInes was promoted to associate professor and shortly thereafter, assumed the duties of assistant dean.

Sines and his wife, Kathryn, have been married for 21 years and are the parents of six children, while also boasting seven grandchildren.
